Draft — for Australian legal review
What we collect
Your name, email, optional phone and photo, your 18+ declaration, trips, bookings, messages, reviews and reports. For drivers, a licence image and a selfie.
Why we collect it
To run your account, facilitate bookings and payments, verify drivers, handle safety reports and provide support.
Identity documents
Licence images and selfies are used only for manual driver verification. They're stored privately, never shown on profiles, and viewable only by you and authorised TripMate staff. We don't use facial recognition or biometric matching.
Proposed retention (subject to legal review): documents from declined applications would be deleted 90 days after the decision, and all identity documents deleted when a driver closes their account, unless we need to keep them for a legal or safety reason. These periods aren't applied automatically yet.
What others see
Other members see your first name, last initial, photo, rating and reviews. Contact details are shared only between a driver and passenger after a paid, confirmed booking. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by TripMate.
