Driver Agreement
Draft — for Australian legal review
This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not final. It must be reviewed before TripMate accepts live bookings or payments.
This agreement applies in addition to the Terms and Conditions. By applying to drive, you agree to the following.
1. Eligibility
- You are at least 18 and hold a current, valid driver's licence appropriate for your vehicle.
- You are legally allowed to use the vehicle, with the owner's permission where needed.
- The vehicle is registered, roadworthy and has a working seatbelt for every occupant.
- You hold the insurance required by law and have checked that your policy covers carrying passengers who share costs. TripMate does not provide insurance cover for your trips.
2. Verification
You'll upload a photo of your licence and a selfie. A TripMate team member reviews them manually. Approval is not a background check and doesn't guarantee your conduct or vehicle condition. You must tell us if your licence is suspended, cancelled or changes.
3. Trips and pricing
- Only post genuine journeys you're already making, with accurate times, locations and seat numbers.
- You set your own fare per seat. TripMate adds its 20% fee on top for passengers.
- Don't ask passengers to pay outside TripMate.
4. On the road
- Follow road rules, never drive impaired or fatigued, and treat passengers with respect.
- Tell passengers promptly about any change or cancellation. If you cancel, passengers receive a full refund, including the TripMate fee.
5. Payouts
Payouts of your fare are arranged by TripMate after the trip, once live payments are enabled. Payout timing and method are still being finalised.
6. Suspension
TripMate may suspend or revoke driver approval for safety, fraud or compliance concerns, as set out in the Terms.
